In response to religious discussion? posted by _Boanerges_:

Hello Joy,

I like your article and your attempt to make people see vegetarianism in a new light where animals are concerned. I know a dog who's been on a veg diet since puppyhood and she's stronger than other dogs I know. She'll take you for a walk and breaks her chain so they have to get extra thick chains for her. The story of the lioness is amazing. I know that carnivores -and lionesses and dogs are supposed to be meat eaters - do have diffrent systems from herbivores so they can digest meat easier, but perhaps the time is truly coming fr the lion to lie down with the lamb. As a converted vegetarian, I'm gl;ad to read your article, and I don't think it smacks necessarily of religion. I think it is only common sense and a compassionate way of thinking.
