Hi Wendell. I just recently learned about scent horses too, and thought it was very fascinating. Actually I've learned something from your post. I didn't know that Venus rotated the opposite direction and plan to go read Tina's article. Thanks also for bringing me up to date on modern lingo. That's not one of my strong points. ;) You have a great day too. -- posted by Joy Butler » seranade - Re: Hmm I read the article on scent horses as well. I found it very informative. Especially since I own two horses myself. I didn't know horses could be useful as finding scents.Faith Antonioni, In response to Re: Hmm posted by JButler: -- posted by seranade

Hi Faith, it's nice to see you here. Actually finding scents is a natural for horses. It seems it's just a matter of training them. What kind of horses do you have? -- posted by Joy Butler » _Boanerges_ - Re: Re: Hmm In response to Re: Hmm posted by JButler:Good day, Joy! Hope all is well your way! Thanks also for bringing me up to date on modern lingo. That's not one of my strong points. ;) Me neither actually! At 44, I am now beginning to see how language does change with time. Now days, the kids... (20's something) will say "thats sick".. Which really means, thats neat.... Skateboard lingo it seems..... They use others like, "keeping it real", which in my day was more like, 'hangin out'.... or, it could also mean, 'chillin'.... Guess I am now an old geezer?... ..lol.. -- posted by _Boanerges_

It seems every generation has its own language. You must have "informants" in that 20's age range. Now that I've entered my fifties, keeping up with modern lingo is interesting but not as high on my list of priorities as it used to be. -- posted by Joy Butler » Tina_Coruth - Re: Re: Re: Re: Hmm In response to Re: Re: Re: Hmm posted by JButler:Wow! This is fascinating, Joy. I had no idea that horses had this ability or that they could be trained to use it. Well, I certainly learned a few new things today. Very enjoyable article. Thank you. -- posted by Tina_Coruth

It is amazing, isn't it, Tina. I was surprised when I learned about this too. I knew they used scenting to survive in the wild (as most wild animals do) but I never thought about training them like dogs. -- posted by Joy Butler
