Mary, you're so right about pit bulls. Earlier in the last century these dogs were known as 'nanny dogs' because they were so good with children. With their determination they also make good search and rescue dogs, and a few are even assistance dogs. The problems with pit bull attacks are not a breed problem, but a people problem. You've offered some good ideas but the uninformed will have a hard time accepting them. And yes, Qadesh was an intriguing animal. I was so impressed with her! -- posted by Joy Butler
