Joy,

Smarty Jones certainly looks like a winner to me. Thanks for bringing him to my attention. I look forward to reading your account of his performance on June 5th.

I had my eye on Smarty Jones even before he was the Derby favorite. He had such an impressive record and workout times. I look forward to the Belmont. It would be so exciting to have a Triple Crown winner after 26 years! Thanks for stopping by my topic, Mary.

Joy,

Do you enjoy horse racing. I used to, but don't go anymore. I sometimes watch it on tv. Yes, it would be wonderful to have a Triple Crown Winner again. I hope you will write an accounting of Smary Jones' performance in June.

Joy -

My husband and I also watched both races, and Smarty looks like he really loves to run. We noticed his ears flicking back and forth, too. He was barely breathing hard when the race ended, so here's hoping he handles the next one as easily. He seems to be an exceptional horse.

Yes, I've loved watching the ponies run ever since I was a kid. We used to have a local track but it closed and now I only watch on tv. I'm also encouraged by the trainer, Nick Zito, and his wife, who are becoming active in racehorse rescue.

Hi Wendy. I'm very excited about Smarty. I don't think the extra distance in the Belmont will bother him. He was still pulling away from the others in the Preakness. I think he is destined to be a great horse and if he loses the Belmont I will be one disappointed person. We'll see....

Not only for Smarty Jones but for the folks who gave the once-injured horse another chance. Love stories like this.

You're right Jerri! And all he needed was a chance to prove himself a great racehorse.
