» Goldenberry - Dale's "Attachment Parenting" misunderstanding

This article is one of the most offensive in the realm of parenting I have read in a long time! The author seems to think that Attachment Parenting is "something new" "a trend" and for "fanatics." It is actually the way MOST people in the world parent.

It is a great deal more than wearing a baby in a backpack. And I can't even address those who place an arbitrary age or developmental time to call breastfeeding "icky."

I suggest Dale read The Baby Book by Sears and Sears, or Attachment Parenting by Katie Allison Granju or any of the great literature about how to parent without ego getting involved.

People who have a problem with Attachment Parenting usually have two things in common 1) They completely misuderstand what it is and 2)They feel confined and threatened by the power and responsibility it entails. I think both apply to this article
