» Travelsleuth - Florence

Great article! Florence is one of the great cities that I just have not got around to visiting - Rome has always come first and I have never managed to drag myself away from its eternal wonders. After reading this I am determined to visit Florence in the early summer.

Definately visit Florence. And early summer is better than later--August is not a good time to visit. It is such a beautiful city, great for walking. And it makes a good base for exploring the rest of Tuscany.

Siena is wonderful too--I surely wouldn't mind spending a month there. Renting a villa is the best way to do it. You really get the feel of living there. Have a great trip, I wish I was going back this year!
