» rik - re William Merrick

I do not know much about William Merrick although Ihave come across his name several times.
Enciklopedio de Esperanto has the following entry:-

Merrick (merik)William Percy, anglo. Nask.2 Nov 1868 en Shepperton. Kolektis tradiciajhojn. Esperantighis en 1903.Propagandis inter blinduloj. Kas. de la gazeto E-a Ligilo.

I'll see if i can find more.

In response to message posted by rik:

I am also intersted in William Merrick as he lived in my home town of Shepperton, where I am a member of the local history society. He was a farmer by trade. Unfortunately I am not an esperanto speaker so I would be grateful if you could translate the entry you found on Merrick for me. There is some of his correspondence with Lucy Broadwood (of the famous piano-making family)
kept at the Surrey history centre at Woking, Surrey. Was Merrick involved with Esperanto?
Regards
