» David_Poulson - Not a complete tragedy. Just so that the story of Verda Majo does not end in total sadness, here is a little footnote to raise a smile. On the 18th of August, 1978 - 31 years after Verda Majo and Liu Ren died - a group of 12 Japanese esperantists visited China. Among them was S-ino Juki Ozawa, the older sister of Verda Majo. A very emotional encounter took place in Peking (as it was still named then) between Juki Ozawa and her nephew and niece, Verda Majo's children - now, of course, both in their thirties. You can see a photograph of the three of them on page 12 of the November 1987 issue of El Popola Cxinio. Also, I will be telling you more about this visit in my next article. Among other things. -- posted by David_Poulson
