I was very interested in what you had to say about care of your container plants becuase I have, over the last several seasons, been growing some woody ornamentals in containers. Here in New England the weather is much more severe than your's so I either store the containers in an unheated garage or just leave them out. This year, I will try to dig out old compost from some and then refresh with new and see what happens. Do you ever actually lift and root prune any of your plants like the camellias? Well good day to you...enjoy those camellias and hellebores for me! -- posted by Georgene A. Bramlage » GrahamL - Re: Beautiful View! In response to message posted by Cercis:Hi Cercis, Thanks for the compliments on my articles, I didn't realise I wrote word pictures, what a nice thought! I am aware though that I do ramble on quite a bit. As for my camellias. Funny you should ask whether I lift and prune any of them. This is a task I have done before and intend to do again shortly with one or two now becoming potbound. It will be somewhat complicated by the fact that most of the pots that house my camellias also have hardy cyclamens rooted in the surface gravel. However, the camellias in questions are now drying out far too rapidly to leave as they are, so I will have to tackle the problem soon. Yes, I do intend to enjoy my camellias and hellebores, but spring hardly allows one to draw breath sometimes. -- posted by GrahamL
