Your butterfly photo is lovely! We get one very small blue butterfly in these parts called a Spring Azure - but most unusually I've seen it in summer this year. Of course our weather has been so odd that plants and animals and humans are all confused.

I still wish that I could grow 'Mutabilis' - and the way the weather seems to be generally warming - they have redone our climate zone maps to reflect that - I just may be able to finally make a try!

Thanks for the complients on the butterfly photo, took a while to take successfully, patience is the name of the game with all butterfly photos. Pity you can't grow mutabilis over there, but the way the world climate is going, anything might be possible sooner than any of us think!

Far sooner, I think. They have already revised the zone maps and upped me a full zone. Which means that in the protection of my walled garden I should be able to grow things I couldn't when we started the garden. The only problem is water. I am so weary of trying to keep things watered - it seems we've been in drought conditions for years now. So my warmer zone plants are more likely to be from the desert than anywhere.

I've managed once or twice to get a decent butterfly photo - it's easier now with the digital cameras because you don't run out of film so quickly. But you do have to do a terrific imitation of a statue before you can manage it, don't you?
