I am new to this site so bare with my navigation skills. I just wanted to comment...I have done this breeding you are doing. I have a papered Dane (the stud) and a papered Mastiff. My danse is black from a black mother and fawn father and the mastiffis fawn from fawn parents. It was very interesting and the puppies were all black or fawn. I had 2 litters with 13 each and I get reports now that some of the male pups are at 250 lbs. They have the dane height and mastiff girth. They are awesome dogs! We still have four females left (Leopard girl is still available - she was originally sold, but have not been able to get in contact with her buyer) - she will be added soon. -- posted by gordom2 » morgan555 - Mastiffs cross with Great Dane In response to Mastiffs cross with Great Dane posted by bewylde:I am very interested in a mastiif /great dane cross puppy.Where are you located? I am in Canada Toronto. I have owned both a great dane and a mastiff before and the idea of having both in the same dog sounds amazing. I am very big on temperment,I am looking for a big sweet goofy dog for possible therapy dog work as I volunteer with a therapy dog program and currently visit nursing homes and hospitals with my spaniel cross. -- posted by morgan555 » Button0 - Great Dane/Mastiff mixes In response to Great Dane/Mastiff mixes posted by ldkotr:I have some that were born on April 10th. I am curious though, about what to expect from him as an adult...I did see the article about mixes..expect the mastiff size and the other breeds personality...so with that, do I research articles using tricks to train a st bern? I do think he has more mastiff tendencies...the relaxed to the point of lazy, minimal barker, um...lol..layin down to eat. Has anyone known a dog of this mix? I want to start his serious trainin now, before he outweighs me and I'd like to do this the right way...geared to his nature and genetic 'makeup'...theres no way that I can train him the way I've had to with our rat on acid (jack russell)....Thanks, Melanie-- posted by MelanieLC « Previous 1 2 3 4 Next » Please follow the guidelines set forth in the Suite101 Posting Etiquette when adding to the discussion. |
