Revamping The Rectangle!Read the article this discussion is about

» Carol Wallace - Thank you! I've been contemplating the transformation of my side yard from an area with two beds and lots of grass into a full, hedged garden with paths - only I hadn't gotten around to aggressively playing with the design yet. Your #5 actually does the trick perfectly - gives me the access paths I needed and incorporates the plantings that are already there!-- posted by Carol Wallace » JaneHollis - Glad to be of help Hi Carol,I'm glad the article was useful for you. Now if only I could come up with an idea for my own garden, I'd be happy. It is a far removed from a rectangle as you can get, being sort of fan shaped. It is only 14' wide near the house and on one side the boundary continues in line with the house party wall, but on the other it swings out about 45 degrees, whilst the end boundary tends to zig zag! I have laid out a basic ground plan, but now, like all keen gardeners I want more beds for more plants, and also to break the garden up to create more intrigue. I have some rough ideas, but I keep changing my mind! -- posted by JaneHollis
