» Carol Wallace - 'Midwinter Fire' Jane - is this the cornus with stems that look like flames, from a deep color at the base fading to yellow? I saw it in a wholesale catalog a couple of years ago and have been trying to remember the name (and locate a few for myself) ever since!-- posted by Carol Wallace » JaneHollis - Yes, that's right. Carol,Yes, that’s the one. Also called Winter Beauty and Winter Flame. I find the coloration more eyecatching than the red stems of Cornus alba. It also copes with drier soils than many other cornus species. -- posted by JaneHollis » Carol Wallace - I'm glad to hear that because I finally located a seller and ordered two. (And the phormium. You're going to get me in trouble. ;-)-- posted by Carol Wallace
