» pleshdl - I enjoyed the information about skunks.

I enjoyed the information about skunks. I felt that it was very thorough. I have at least one skunk living under my front steps. The skunk odor is prevalent, which means he as marked his territory. Now that it is the beginning of December, I have not seen him, which leads me to the conclusion that he must be hibernating. How can I encourage him to leave his "home" during the winter months? If not do I wait until February?

» debbieaa25 - White Skunks

I have a question about white skunks and cannot seem to find my answer. I live in Arkansas. For several weeks now, I have been seeing skunks in the yard of my new home. Most are normal looking skunks: solid black with a white stripe. A few weeks ago, I thought I saw an animal resembling a white skunk. My boyfriend swears that I am seeing things and that I mistook it for a opossum. Last night, I opened up the door to go outside and saw very clearly in the porch light at the bottom of my stairs an animal identical to a skunk only it is the complete opposite: it is solid white or light gray with a thin black stripe going down it's back. The body, tail, fur and everything else is completely identical to a skunk. Does anyone know what this is? I found some articles on the internet of white skunks but none of them are completely identical to what I keep seeing.
