» Jojo - Window Plants I've never known what my 'window' plants were, but thanks to your pictures now I know. The things we learn everyday here are amazing.I was given some of these by a friend years ago. She called them 'window plants'. I looked that up and got Fenestraria, which sounded all wrong, even though the windows of fleshy clear stuff that let light in seemed right. For the last 3 years these have flowered, always in a south window, usually during March, depending on how badly I treat them. I think they like my house because I don't water them much and have them very close to a very poorly-insulated window all winter. There are 3 distinct varieties in one trough. Another takes over a whole 8-inch bonsai dish. They propagate extremely easily. Too bad we don't have a cactus editor here. I have a pink-spined cactus that could use a name. Thanks for the great article Diana. The links are fabulous too! -- posted by Jojo » Gary - Hi Diana Hi Diana,Before this article I didn't know about this plant family. Thank you for introducing me to it. Looks like they are right at home inside, I wonder if my cats would leave them alone, are they poisionous to cats? thanks and what's happening with the minature rock garden list?
