Planting Flowers: wild flowers
This archived discussion is "read only".
» JessieBK - wild flowers Thank you so much! I will try planting them in pots and then transplant them. Is it too late to start them? Also, the bed I want to plant them in has a downhill slant and watering and rain causes the dirt to wash off. Should I add good topsoil and then mulch after I transplant? Also, I saw an add in the April issue of Southern Living about some kind of "carpet roses" some sort of ground cover. Do you know anything about them? I have an ancient rose bush that I want to dig up but I love to dry the petals and use them for oil. Would you mind if I asked another question? I also have a very old lilac that was once very beautiful. Now it only gets a few blooms and has a lot of dead, woody stalks growing in the middle. Every year I try to cut the dead "branches" out, but every year it gets worse. Is it time for it to go? I think it is probably over 4O years old.I can't express enough how much I appreciate your advice! Jessie K. -- posted by JessieBK
