» theafrench - The Difficulties Ahead

I find this so frustrating, I can find plenty of info on how to care for myself, or, start to assess a loved ones situation. However, I am finding it harder and harder to pinpiont problem areas for help with my elderly loved one. If it's not serious enough for a skilled nurse, then no one knows where to go for help. If Alzehiemer's(sp?) hasn't been diagnosed, then no one knows where to go for help. I need help in the beginning. Where do I start, once I've figured out there is a need? How can I get the minimal help, with the minimal resources now? What does one do when there is no family, or friends, or community, because your loved one has sucessfully alienated themsalves from everyone he/she knows over the past ten years? How do I begin to know what is the right thing to do? What about the needs of my young family who need their mommy? I feel so alone and unsure. Does anyone have any thoughts or ideas? Websites with help? Please email me. I don't have alot of time to surf the web and it's millions of discussion threads. Thanks in advance for any help.
