» john99958 - Hallucinations My 86 year old Grandmother is having hallucinations claiming that see can see swarms of fly's in her house and in particular in her bedroom, only when she wakes in the morning. The fact that no one else has seen them does not convince her that they do not exist. My family and I are wondering if this is a common complaint and if there is any thing we can do about it.-- posted by john99958 » zachslady - Re: Hallucinations My 80 year old Grandma just started having hallucinations this week. She claims that there are 2 children in her house constantly and that there were also 2 rats there in the morning. She glares at them and when asked what she is looking at, she responds with something like, "that girl is sitting over there." She claims to be scared of the kids and does not want to be around them. I don't know how common of a complaint it is, but it is heartbreaking to see it in action. Does anyone know what can be done to help her?-- posted by zachslady » fashby - Re: night hallucinations In response to message posted by chris84:my 89 year old mother also has hallucinations, or strange dreams at night, and talks and hollers in her sleep almost all night long. This has gone on for months and none of the docters seem to have a clue about the cause. She also is on blood pressure medication plus alot of others. If you get any clue on this I would love to hear it. -- posted by fashby » akaGracie - Re: Re: night hallucinations My mother-in-law is 78 yrs old. Taking high blood pressure meds and coumodin. We've noticed that when the levels of coumodin in her blood are high, she has nightly hallucinations of strangers in her house. It has happened while wide awake and/or waking in the middle of the night. Never during the day. We're told that the coumodin has nothing at all to do with this except we see it happen within an hour of her taking her coumodin at night! Could it be the blood pressure medications?? 3 of 4 msgs posted, the family member is on BP meds. Maybe that could be a cause? We're going to doctor tomorrow, will advise if anything is accomplished...-- posted by akaGracie » ashley4233 - Re: Re: Re: night hallucinations In response to Re: Re: night hallucinations posted by akaGracie:My Mother-in-law is 76yrss old...Taking high blood pressuremedss and heartmedss. The hallucinations have started about 2 weeks ago. Claims people are taking over her house. Very scared...Men with guns surrounding her home...Little Kids..Ladies..etc..She now is at the point where she sleeps here with us..As she won't go home to sleep..She does not have the hallucinations as much when she is here with us. In fact just once she said that there are some girls at the table. But that when she first came over and was very tired from lack of sleep. She tried several times to go back home after getting sleep here and the people come back...What to do??? -- posted by ashley4233 » ingrid2260 - Re: Re: Re: night hallucinations In response to Re: Re: Re: night hallucinations posted by ashley4233:My mother has Parkinsons Disease and started taking the drug Mirapex. She also is seeing little kids, her mother (deceased) on the wall, 3 men breaking into the livingroom. Maybe we can find out what ingredient your mother in law's drugs have in common with my moms. Could you just give me the names of the medications she is taking? I can do the research. thanks. -- posted by ingrid2260
