» miarobinson - Avoid C's and D's by Gettting Enough Z's

Author: Dorothy Kropf (Suite 101,Education K-12 Hub)

This article stressed the importance of children getting enough sleep on a daily basis in order for them to be able to concentrate, behave, and to stay healthy. Sleep is very important in the lives of children and if they don't get enough sleep then their daily behaviors and attitudes will be affected by this. Children need to be able to go to school, listen, pay attention, and get their work done without falling asleep and being cranky during the school hours. This wouldefinitelyly affect their grades while at school, if they are not learning but sleeping instead. Children who are in school need and should be getting at least 8 1/2 hours of sleep every night. In order for parents to attain good night sleep patterns and routines, they can cut off the children's caffeine intake, they can help their children wind down before bedtime, and they can also set a good example by going setting a routine of going to bed early themselves. All of these work together in hopes to establish a new routine to help their children get enough Z's and to avoid C's and D's.
