» tenority04 - Re: what can be done

-Tres- In response, I'd like to agree with the author in that there isn't really any direct thing that can be done to stop shootings. I also agree that there needs to be a presence in schools to help maintain order. Parents are an answer, but they aren't always willing to give their own time to help even though they claim to be so caring.

» ncgirlyahooco - School shootings

In my opinion I think that school shootings aren't good, but ther is no way to get rid of it. The only way I think it will be prevented is when there is complete and final action taken by providing schools with security and metal detectors around and in progress during school hours. This problem, I beleive will never be fixed because of the fact that it has been avoided since Martin Luther King, Jr. tried to fix it and it is still being avoided.

» Shortie5 - I agree

No matter what you do to try to prevent teens from bringing weapons to school they always find a way to bring them anyway. They see a lot of things on TV and think that its all real and they can get away with it. Some people blame it on the parents but no one really knows what their child is capable of doing. That's why I feel that when a child makes a threat then it should be taken seriously and not as a joke.

» Blue27 - I don't agree.

I do not agree with some of the points that you made in your message. I believe that it causes even more harm if adults can bring guns to school. A good example of it would be, for instance, An adult is walking in the hallway and is carrying a gun. At the same time an angry student is walking through the hallway and sees the gun. Next thing you know there is a school shooting and people are either dead or are wounded. Then who would be to blame, the student for shooting or the government for allowing guns in schools in the first place. So, this is why I do not agree with your comment on allowing adults to carry guns in school.

» luvmenot00 - Re: what I think

In response to the article, I highly agree with the author. I think that there should be stricter laws based on school shootings. If this was enforced, more kids would stop and think about the consequences before doing something dumb.More students wouldn't feel theatned about coming to school. This wuold make things alot easier for plenty of people.

» BRITTBRITT - Something Can Be Done

Something can be done. It all starts in the home. what happened to life before the 60s? History is something we should not take for granted. If children weren't exposed to broken homes and wild entertainment then there would be a lot less problems. The boy in Cali said that he listened to Eminem. I barely listen to him and would never approve my child of listening to him. There is so much violence in the world. There is still discrimination even as a whole. Stop fighting your brother but help lift him up. It isn't a one man job. We all need to work together and get our nation to truly be "The Best Nation" we are as bad as the Protestants and Catholics"

» LUV4ME27405 - What I think

In response to this article, I feel that the author is somewhat right. Nothing can really be done to stop these school shootings. If these shootings were prevented, teachers wouldn't have to be afraid to punish the kids.

» nickobooty - The world today

Question, what can be done? The answer...
I agree with very few points made in the article"What can be done?". I disagree with the idea of adults being allowed to carry weapons on school grounds. I also think that the idea of parents volunteering in school hallways would just be another problem, due to the fact that most parents work during school hours. Personally I think there can be a decrease in school shootings but unfortunately never a end to this situation. The only real answer to this problem is GOD... and nothing but God. If the minds of these teens change then maybe our situation will. I think prayer can change all things.

» JuneGemini619 - I Agree.....

I agree on the things you said about everyone needing to recieve equal punishment for wrong doings. Also it would be a good idea that parents become more involved in their children(s) school life. But I do disagree with one thing... teachers being allowed to carry gun to "protect" themselves would only cause more problem....Guns should not be allowed in schools at all teachers or students. These gun problems that have occured at schools could have been prevented if PARENTS at home taught their children not to bully others and that guns are bad and not to be used to hurt others. No teacher should feel they need to arm themselves if parent taught their child before-hand the wrong things from the right things.
