» Whoop - Beth:

I have an idea: Let's write an article talking about how incredibly stupid some people are, AND THEN CITE STATEMENTS FROM THOSE SAME STUPID PEOPLE AS AUTHORITATIVE REFERENCES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF POLICY AFFECTING THE REST OF US WHO ARE NOT SO STUPID! When you tell me how lame the parents of the Kliebold monsters are, don't use their words to try to convince me we should adopt policies THEY think would be a good idea. According to the defective pieces of meat, we need gun control. They are idiots, what the hell do they know about anything?!?

» Randy_Rick - Some thoughts on this thread. NRA - guncontrol & the media

Beth,

A couple of thoughts on your article, which I liked.

The US Supreme Court has ruled that criminals don't have to register guns because that would be self-incrimination. So most of the arguments in favor of gun registration immediately are invalidated.

The NRA supports candidates from any political party that shows knowledge of the subject matter and supports RESPONSIBLE gun ownership and use.

Columbine and other tragedies are used by the media and politicians to distract those in the audience with a 30 second attention span from their own failings (and greed). Point. I was watching my local TV recently when they had a short spot called "prevent the violence" featuring a 12 year-old helpless looking female child. It was immediately followed by an ad showing previews for a special series of TV reruns the network wanted viewers to watch, in 20 seconds at least 30 people were killed and blood was flying everywhere. Yep, looks exciting, I guess it'll get good ratings. (must be another NRA conspiracy).
