I read the article 'Who's the Man' by Betty Jimenez and found it to be great. However Betty states "while I am not a feminist by any loose definition of the word, I am a believer and advocate for women". I believe this statement to be contradictory as the Macquarie dictionary definition of a feminist is 'an advocate of equal rights and opportunities for women'. Society tries to teach people that 'feminism' is a dirty word. The aim of womens liberation is to do as much for female people as has been done for colonized nations. Be proud that you are a woman and a 'feminist' and don't let anyone tell you any different. I highly recommend all women and men alike to read 'The whole woman' by Germaine Greer before they condemn 'feminism'. Knowledge is power!-- posted by sushi28
