» aball42 - Pleasantly Plump Betty,I appreciate your sense of humor on this sometimes delicate (or maybe not so) subject. I am also "Pleasantly Plump." or obese, or fat, or whatever. I have people who love me for who I am. I have had insensitive, ignorant people stare, and make hateful, hurtful comments. I appreciate taking our heaviness lightly, lol, but, I am concerned about obesity as a health risk. A healthy lifestyle is so important. And, just because I feel good about myself does not mean I am in the best health. I am realizing that euphemistic terms for being overweight can also keep us in denial about serious health dangers. Keep that healthy image of yourself, but make sure your actual health matches it. I am speaking from experience. I was in denial about the risks my weight was putting on my health until I experienced such health problems as high blood pressure, lack of energy, and just not feeling good in general. I have begun a vitamin, healthy eating, moderate exercise regimen, combined with a spiritual reawakening that has changed my life, and made me feel whole for the first time in years. I guess moderation and balance are what I am preaching. No extremes are ever healthy, and denial only prolongs our suffering. Thanks for your great sense of humor and perspective on this topic. -- posted by aball42
