Males with Eating DisordersRead the article this discussion is about

» hickory - 6'2" tall male weighs 100 pounds born with eating disorder My husband was born with an ulcer. But since the ulcer was cured. Over 60 years ago his mom during pregnancy took medicines which caused him and her an ulcer. To this day he can't eat food if more than one food item is on the same plate. When more than one type of food is on the same plate it makes him nausea especially if the food runs together. YIKES! He wants the food seperated in seperate plates or sometimes he can't eat. Tonight I saw on TV about a NASCAR driver with what appeared to be an eating disorder. His wife served him dinner and was careful not have the two different types of food touching one another on the same plate. At that time I really felt sorry for that NASCAR driver. His wife was really trying hard to cook dinner and please him but I don't think she understood entirely what her husband was going through. That young NASCAR driver didn't seem to be able to express his eating disorder to his beautiful and caring wife. My husband is dying because of his eating disorder since he is losing more weight everyday. No one seems to understand his situation. My husband has less tolerance of food as he gets older. Any reasonable suggestions on how to deal with his eating disorder will be appreciated from those who are expericenced in this type of eating disorder. If you have not been through this type of eating disorder please do not reply. -- posted by hickory
