The Mon are part of the schismatic difusion of the Mon-Kymer peoples. The old Khymer empire split into several parts one of which was the Mon. The temple at Angkor Wat is an example of their previous magnitude. I worked with a number of Mon is the CIDG in Viet Nam during the war. They were excellent troops.
