In June of 2000, Franklin promised that Microsoft Reader would be available on the eBookman. See the press release at

They sold thousands of them with the promise that this product was going to be available soon. It never materialized.

If this $50 eBook reader ever materializes, just be sure you know EXACTLY what it REALLY will do before you buy it.
