» Usivius - Re: DMing help Firstly I must say that in my 20 years of playing I have over that time adapted and changed many versions of the D&D rules to fit into my own house-rule system. So I won't give you any stats. But if you are starting out, just pick foes (monsters or otherwise) that are the same 'power' or less than the PCs. This way you can get an idea on how they stack up against such foes and then later you can adjust accordingly. Always remember that players don't know what is going on behind your screen; if things get out of hand you can always fake it: if they are doing poorly against a monster you can always have the monster miss a few times, and if they are doing too well, well maybe a few 'lucky hits' are in order. The trick is to make sure everyone is having fun and there is as much challenge and excitement as possible. Good luck.-- posted by Usivius
