» paleogeoff - 3rd edition FrankI want to stand up and be heard - I LOVE 3rd EDITION. OK, I'll sit down now. I've been a D&D player since the Basic set back in the early 80's. I loved the game then (but I did make my own changes). I never played 2nd edition, mostly because I thought the rules got too complex. I have enjoyed what they've done to 3rd edition and I think it's an easier edition to get new players interested in the game. Again, I do think there are some problems with it. I don't like how the game treats languages - I don't think just because a PC knows elven, mean they can speak and write it fluently - even for an elf. How many Americans speak and write English fleuntly? But mostly, the things I don't like I can take care of through the use of house rules. -- posted by paleogeoff
