Thanks, Jerri. Each state certainly has it's own natural wonders, doesn't it?

I remember the day I stood and took in the magnificence of Mt. Ranier which had been hiding in the clouds up until that time. There are no words for it. None at all. My friend who lives there said, "Now you know why we all sing it lullabies."

Thanks for dropping by!

Thank you, Ken! I'm delighted you dropped in and left a note. There's nothing like being there, so why don't all you Aussies pile onto the plane and head on over. I'll take you there to experience it in person. smile

Hey Bren, It would take little convincing to get me there. I'll work on Jo now that she's back on the net. Keep the hints coming and maybe..just maybe we can take you up on the offer. Kenya Ken

Hey gals,

Where is our resident fluffy pink spoonbill these days? Hopefully she's almost finished off that wall and her hands are healing.

I wonder if she will offer to do any more walls?

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that my second article has just gone live. Its a bit hard to take as it relates to the impact on children but it needs to be said. Bring some tissues when you visit.

See you all there, Ken

Bren,

What medium did you paint with? (Did I miss that in the article?)

I really like the boldness of your colors.

In response to message posted by Fort_Spunky:

Hi Linda. I used acrylic for the spoonbill painting. I wanted texture for the wings, so I mixed sawdust into the paint and applied it with a palette knife. Then I did some detail painting on top of that.

I have that painting hanging in my livingroom and love it more all the time.

In response to message posted by muncrief:

Thanks for sharing your technique. It looks terrific. Now another question, is it painted on canvas? And how big is it? (Oops, I guess that was two questions!)

I painted with oils a long time ago and loved it. Unfortunately, I don't have a good place to paint anymore. I do some watercolors and draw with pencils, but not as much as I would like. I need to be more disciplined and work on something at least every week. Seems like I do the most when we're on a trip. Colorado is always inspiring.

Hi Aileen,

I thought of your comment about God being the Master Artist this morning when I looked out the window. The sky was very blue but it was covered with little white "pillow" clouds. I thought "If anyone painted a sky that looked like that, no one would believe it was based on reality." I can hear the critics now "Too many little clouds spaced too evenly." smile

Hope you're having a good day.
