Exactly right, Joan. When you invest time, work, money, and heart into an animal who can not speak for itself against neglect or abuse, you have to be sure who they are going to. People who would object to careful placement may be the type who view them as "just an animal" and only want a temporary "toy". Anyone worth the friendship of these animals would understand.
