» Joy Butler - Sharing a Miracle

Thank you so much for sharing this miracle. The love in the heart of a rescuer and in the heart of a beautiful animal sometimes accomlishes much more than anyone could ever imagine. Reminds me of my article "Doing the Right Thing". Beau, and the people who gave him a second chance, chose to do the right thing!

» SWALKER0 - I, too, have tears rolling down my face.

What a beautiful story. It's just another example of how interconnected animals are with humans and how much they enrich our lives, if we only give them a chance. Thank you so much for sharing.

» beekay - BEAUTIFUL STORY

Hi Marie,
It's stories like these that give me hope, that lift my spirits (after a good cry). I can understand WHY God created the animals even before creating us......God Bless Beau....maybe he is playing with my Taira that I just lost from "old age".......Suitely, Brenda

» Renie_Burghardt - Miracle Dog

Beau was a miracle dog, indeed! Joan thank you so much for sharing Marie's touching story. It brought tears to my eyes as well. Beau may have passed the Rainbow Bridge, but his spirit will always be with Marie. Take care! Renie

In response to message posted by JButler:

Just like Bullet in your story, Joy, it never ceases to amaze me the difference these fur children can make. We only need to take a chance--and they give back a hundredfold. :.-)
Thanks,
Joan

» AnimalAid - "Only A Puppy"

The article A Shelter Dog asks God is one that everyone should read. My wife wrote an article for our local animal rescue newsletter back in May 2001 and the article you posted about the shelter dog make me want to share this one with you.

I’m’m only a puppy, born a short time ago. I have a nice mommy and six brothers and sisters to play with. There’s a man who comes outside to bring us food and water. He yells at my mommy a lot, asking her why she had to have puppies and what is he going to do with us. don’t’t think he likes us very much and don’t’t understand why? BuI’m’m only a puppy.
The man came out today and loaded mommy and me and all my sisters and brothers into a cage and onto a truckI’mI’m so scared! We drove to a place where there are lots of other dogs and we were all put into another cage. I heard someone say we were at the animal shelter. I smell fear, anger, sadness anddon’tn’t understandI’mI’m only a puppy.
I long to run and play, I dream about it all the time. People come by and look at us all the time, saying how cute we are, and twthey’vey’ve taken one of my brothers and sisters away. I feel happy for them, budon’ton’t know whI’m I’m only a puppy.
A man came today and took mommy and me and my four brothers and sisters oWe’reWe’re in a small room and I feel sadness. The man sI’m “I’m sorry” and I feel a prick in my back. I very sleepy bdon’tdon’t want to sleep, I want to run and play. The man say'won’twon’t be long now adon’tdon’t understaI’m I’m only a puppy. Every year, approximately 62,000,000 animalseuthanizednized at animal control shelters alone. This does not include teuthanizednizeSPCA’sPCA’s and Humane Societies. PLEASE, be part of the solution; have your pets Spayed or Neutered!!
