» Joy Butler - Massive escape!

Don't I know it, Joan! It only takes once though, and you learn to escort visitors, repairmen, etc through the gate and padlock it yourself. Glad all your babies were safely retrieved. By the way, how's Eleanor?

» Renie_Burghardt - Escape!

Hi Joan, what an adventure! You poor thing. I'm glad they all got rounded up, without getting into too much mischief. Reminds me of the time I met my first Pyr, a couple of years ago. A new neighbor moved in down the road. She had this massive Pyr, who got away and ended up in my yard. I went out, and leaving the door to the house open, yelled at the dog to go home. I wasn't sure if he was friendly or not. Plus my dogs were making a racket, so were the chickens, who were convinced this huge stranger was going to eat them! For all I knew, maybe he was.

So there I was, yelling, "go on, get out of here dog. Go home! Go!" The Pyr looked at me, looked at the open door, and bounded right into the house, and got up on my couch! So there he was, a totally strange dog, on the couch, in my house. I finally called the people, after calling information for their number. I had never met them before. They came to get him, apologizing profusely. It turned out that the Pyr loved to spend time on their couch at home! Anyway, it all ended well.

I enjoyed the article. Hope you're rested up from the adventure! Take care. Renie

Eleanor is AMAZING!! :-D Thanks for asking!! Soon as I get the time I'll write a follow up. She is the most loving, sweetest dog I have ever know. She does still need to be treated for HW, but we felt it best to let her fully recover from her surgery first.

Renie, This is a great story! And so completely Pyr! LOL They are at home where ever they are.
Too funny! He must have recognized your loving spirit to have invited himself in like that.

Yup, rested up from THAT adventure--but with Rescue, I guarantee, the adventures are non-stop.
Last week it was 10 dogs with diahrea...

The first time I read this, never did I think it could happen to me. Me whom is soooo watchful over the babies... but to my surprise... my newest pyr (i've had him since feb, and is more work then all my other little ones and big one put together, still love him though) has shown me differently. Not just one day, but two days in a row this big fur ball of mine decided to go awandering in his not so new anymore neighborhood. The first time by himself, the second (yesterday), he brought his partner in crime with him. Thank goodness for some great neighbors who dont know me personally, (but love the big white polar bears down the street, I have 2 pyrs and some shihtzus) and called the dog officer who proceeded to help my son recapture the escapees. Lets just say that everyone in my small town now knows these guys. (and yes I do have a fenced in yard, and padlocked gate entraces..... how did they escape you ask??? LOL he decided Mommy needed new screens in the screen room, thats also attached to the back yard.

thanks for listening....
