» Barbara Nicholson Bell - Thanks, Jill! I'm in month two of my second attempt at a low carb diet, and like you I am looking for recipes and tips for adapting to my new lifestyle. This course had tempted me, but I think I'll wait until the lifestyle is more routine and I am ready for an advanced course on the Paleo diet.-- posted by Barbara Nicholson Bell » Tina_Coruth - Re: Thanks, Jill! In response to Thanks, Jill! posted by bici:Jill, I had not heard of the Paleo diet. I have settled into a "lower carb" lifestyle. I will have to give this some thought. Thank you for writing this excellent review. -- posted by Tina_Coruth » desertblue - Re: Thanks, Jill! In response to Thanks, Jill! posted by bici:Hi Barb. I've been low carbing since October...it was hard over the holidays, let me tell ya! You are right, this isn't a learn-the-basics low carb course, it's specifically about Paleo. What i liked about the course is that it's very well researched and promotes our original way of eating - the one our bodies are most adapted for. It's a great course to take to get a feel for one of the lesser-known low carb regime options, and probably one of the healthiest to follow. If I had any GI diseases, or some other condition that required whole foods, I'd go Paleo. -- posted by desertblue » desertblue - Re: Re: Thanks, Jill! When you are ready to enter a full low-carb diet, gather all the info you can. The point is to train your body to use its fats for energy. Our society has encouraged stuffing ourselves with so much sugar, that our metabolisms are quite lazy... I am happier with the taste of food since returning to whole fat milk, real butter and mayo, lots of cheeses and, of course, plenty of meat/nuts/eggs/soy. -- posted by desertblue
