The German pinscher is one of the initial breeds used in the Doberman. "Pinscher means "terrier" in German, so that's where the terrier comes in. Dobes have many terrier traits than linger today, such as tenacity and a strong prey drive. Although Europeans have dropped the "Pinscher" in Doberman's name because the Dobe is so far removed from the terrier roots, I still see a few traits!
