» Tangewystl - Unclear?

Hi Deborah,

I may be confused--are you advocating the use of corporal punishment? I am not aware of ANY public school in the US that currently allows this practice.

Just curious about your take on things,

In response to message posted by Tangewystl:

This will be a mixed message, a confusing reply, but of course I'm NOT advocating corporal punishment such as the examples used from research on the heinous acts of corporal punishment in Africa. Of course not. However, my point is that when corporal punishment, (licks on the buttocks with a paddle) WAS practiced, the student's misbehavior disappeared 99% of the time. What is the answer? I don't know and I doubt that you have the answers as well. My problem with corporal punishment is that its use was taken away from the many, for the actions of those criminal cases by the few. That is the problem, but what is the answer?
