» Jo Murphy - Punished By Rewards? Have You All Got Your Heads Together?

Have you all got your heads together or is it serendipity?
Candy
and Chaos In the Classroom
is more or less about the same thing only a bit different?
I believe that if the children are engaged in meaningful activities and they can see purpose then they would like to be involved.
They still may not however have the skills to be able to become meaningfully involved without training ..."did you forget you're not allowed to talk? hmmm?"

What to do if that dosen't work..???...not hit them! That I say because I just plain don't want to go around hitting anybody! So I think I'll do the work and read the references you have all given and settle down for a good ol' dialectic approach to the perplexing intricacies of the philsophy of Crime and Punishment
Age ol' question really but I am up to it if you are?

I tried this trick I learnt in a rehab.
Couldn't control a lil' girl who didn't want to sit down orrrr!!! stop talking for that matter.
Sooo?
I sat down on my chair and prayed for her.
Whew!! She sat down and went back to work!
"Praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out."

Anyway Happy Easter!!!

Not sure what you mean by rewarding misbehaviour or punishing by rewards, but I appreciate the visit nonetheless.
