» Pianogal02 - Hey

I am doing a persuasive speech for English class, and my topic that I chose was does music help with learning. I believe it does because I have played piano for 8 years and I brought up my grades by 2 grades and I need information saying that it does help. I would like some studies that people have done to prove it and I need help writing the powerpoint presentation. So if you can help me please e-mail me at glittergal20022002@yahoo.com and I will e-mail you back Thanks, Michelle

Hi Glitter Girl,
The grade ones know that music time is quiet time. They don't talk whilst the music (classical) is on and they definitely do relax and get into the activities.

I actually believe what you are saying but I would have to have a good think before I can come with any more examples but when I do I will email you with some substantial stuff.

Good luck with your work and Happy Easter.

Well, I have very little knowledge about this topic. From reading about various Masters projects and research papers from libraries, in order to get results you need a certain type of music. The music should be complicated and it should be used often and long enough to make a difference. The music is not only for listening to in quiet times but also for studying. For some students, this is easy but for others, the music is quite intrusive and difficult to block out sufficiently enough to stay focused on the task at hand.

In response to message posted by Deborah_Jeter:

Yes the music suggested if a teacher is attempting to enhance learning at quiet and busy time is Baroque music.
I suddenly remembered that we had been taught that and so out put "Baroque music and learning" in the search question and Google came up with many sites about it.

Thanks I had forgotten all about it so I will begin to use it again too,

I am doing a college report on the same subject. You can research the Mozart effect and use some databases to help with the subject. Actually, I need periodicals, journals and many references for an annotative bibliography. Can anyone help? Good Luck!
