In response to message posted by martine3038:Time Magazine had an interesting article about Bipolar recently. It has become almost a fad diagnosis in children, very young children. Preschoolers are being diagnosed and put on medication. I think that many times Bipolar seems to be diagnosed whenever a patient is having psychotic/out-of-control/aggressive behavior. That is just what I have seen working with adolescents. What is key to diagnosis with kids (and it could apply to adults too) is not to mistake rage or a tantrum for a manic state.
