» Mutti - "The Columbia is lost; there are no survivors." This is the most inspiring article. Robert Davis has touched me deeply with his words and inspired me. What we need is more men in this world like Mr. Davis. Thank you for helping ease some of my pain. Our space program is important and we must move ahead not only for ourselves, but for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.-- posted by Mutti » phoehne - Re: "The Columbia is lost; there are no survivors." In response to message posted by Mutti:I hate the talk of permanently canceling the space program. The only truely fitting way to honor the men and women who died in the Columbia, is to continue with the programs they had dedicated their lives to. To stop now would mean their lives were given for nothing. We must use the knowledge that will come from the investigation, use it to go forward. -- posted by phoehne » BoutrosRND - Re: Re: "The Columbia is lost; there are no survivors." In response to message posted by phoehne:I could not agree more. I simply cannot fathom the impulse to declare defeat, much less how pervasive it is; should we not defer to someone's own judgment about what is important enough for them to dedicate their lives to? Abandoning the voyage into the unknown is tantamount to saying that the Columbia astronauts were fools, and that by golly we're not going to make the mistake of exploring space anymore. Unconscionable. -- posted by BoutrosRND
