know about slaves and their "yards" vs gardens. I found it interesting, from one of your links, that African slaves brought yams and okra to America. And how interesting they "swept" their yards, that being a status symbol.

I am glad you are taking time to look at some links...ah...the temptations I have to go off on tangents smile I really have to discipline myself...

It is really amazing how the "swept yard" evolved from a practical African tradition to a "status symbol" here in N.A.
