» MarkDavid - mind-wearing water torture

I like your phrase John. That pretty much sums it all up.

I am an adult returning student at college where we had a depression awareness day last Thursday. I scored high on the test. The counselor who I spoke with has set me up with an appointment to see a nurse practitioner at school tomorrow afternoon.

I have known (in hindsight) that I have suffered with Dysthymia/ADD since at least 1988. Actually ADD even longer. More than likely, I will be on meds of somekind tomorrow afternoon. And I am actually looking forward to them. I tried St. John's Wort and 5-HTP. Neither did much help.

I hope meds will be my path to getting my boat out of drydock. I am so very tired of being a chronic underachiever, with no passions, interest or motivation, yet perpetually restless. I hope the sun starts to rise and the wind fills my sails. I have lots of potential. Perhaps now I will be able to fulfill it.

Thanks for the article.
