to a malady so many suffer. I suffer from depression, but have not had to deal with what you have dealt with.

I find it noble you are willing to share to help others. Hats off to you. Wish everyone with a mental illness had the internet to read your writings. They are quite insightful.

Dear JM:I have never read such an eloquent piece on depression...were you reading my mind? You describe the pain with such artistic finesse. I share your illness as well as your profession. I have come to the conclusion after 15 years of freedom that I, too, must accept Fred as an unwanted member of my family. It appears that Fred likes good company, and hangs around the most creative, artistic and educated of us. I have been told that 50% of the legal profession has entertained Fred at one time or another. You are an inspiration and are a gifted writer. Keep your articles coming and let me know how I can contribute.....

A great piece - I have BP too, although I have not yet named mine. We aren't quite so well-acquainted yet, but are getting there. I am very happy for you, that not only have you learned to coexist with Fred, but that you will be seeing your daughter! A peaceful and happy holiday to you, and thanks for all the good work you do for all of us. So glad you did not succumb when things were at their worst.

My husband has B/P, we make the trip 75 miles to the doctor, tomorrow. He seems to be doing better for now. We found out about this illness when we were both 19 years old. We are now 44 years old and still dealing with B/P. Life is what you make it out to be. With medicine and lots of prayers and me making alife for myself and him having lots of hobbies, there just is hope for people , because things have changed so much in the way of medicines , I think that has been the key. Learning good coping skills help and also living just one day at a time .We live in a small town, has life been easy, no but has it been so bad, no. I dont believe I have sit down and told this part of our life to any one . Thanks to suite 101. We live in the country we have the birds for our symphony, the country side for our art museum, This too me is Life at its best.
