» phoehne - Bathroom redo

I desperatly want to redo my bathroom but have no idea how to go about it. I keep reading your articles and others trying to decide what will work. It doesn't help that my husband says we can't afford to do anything with it.

It's maun problem is it is awkward. I think originally it was a pantry off the kitchen of our old farmhouse. Someone added an additional small room with the tub and stool. The original pantry has the sink and some shelves.

We closed off the door opening into the kitchen (across from the sink) and opened a door into the dining room (between the shelves at the far end of the room. So now I have almost three small rooms interlinked and noe being used to its best efficiency. Everything is narrow. I would like to knock out all of the little partial walls and doorways and start over, even if I have to leave the plumbing where it is.

If anyone has any great storage tips and wall ideas (the walls aren't in the best of condition) I'm looking for ideas. Also this bathroom is used almost totally by my husband and son and guests when we have them. It can't be too feminine for a men's farm bathroom, yet must be nice enough for guests.

I have had a dream of doing some natural wood on at least part of the walls and using natural wood accessories. Kind of a country look but not totally. Hmmm, I wonder if baskets would work for some of the storage? Ideas? Suggestions? the cheaper the better!! :-)
