» littlebabee - What do you think of the Lillywhite sessions?
Good? Bad? Is it wrong for us to download them? Do you think the Lillywhite songs are better than those that made it onto "Everyday"?-- posted by littlebabee

In response to message posted by littlebabee:Downloading the Lillywhite Sessions is basically a moot point by now. For the record, I did download them. I *love* Dave and I really wanted to hear the album version of these songs, especially after the disapointing release of Everyday. Steve Lillywhite is incredible; why Dave switched to this new guy I don't know. Back to the point however, the songs are almost exactly the same as the ones I heard last summer in DC and Charlotte, NC. While this is no excuse: the songs are still Dave's, it does help to cushion the situation. Sure its wrong to download these songs from the laws point of view, but from a creative point of view, these songs are an expression of Dave, even if he is "over it." I love the songs. I love the album. I would love to send Dave money, because I have already burned it =). Whether or not it is right to download it or not? I have no idea. But, if you do, you will be amazed (especially if you didn't catch him last summer).

» davehead4life - Dave Matthews Band Lillywhite Sessions
My perspective on the Lillywhite Sessions is that this cd is one of the greatest that I have ever listened to in my life. since the first day that i heard the live version of crazy i have been in love with the song. i listen to it everyday and it sets the tone for me. i wish that dave would consider releasing this album commercially so that the rest of the world can share in the peacefulness of the album as i do.-- posted by davehead4life
» Amnesiac9 - Ballard vs. Lillywhite
I've been a fan of DMB since they started, and when I bought EVERYDAY, I was so disappointed and so angry with Glen Ballard for doing to DMB what he did to Aerosmith and other good bands! But when I heard the Lillywhite Sessions, I was even more angry with Ballard and Matthews... I couldn't believe Dave put aside the Lillywhite Sessions to release EVERYDAY. Since I bought it, I have grown to like EVERYDAY, but no matter what - it will always pale in comparison. Hopefully Dave will realize his folly, and return to Lillywhite or someone like him!-- posted by Amnesiac9
