» Daffyclay - bulb rot

After rereading my article, I see that I did not clearly state that bulb rot is caused more my bad drainage than anything else. Basal rot is the cause of the bulb rot, however, basal rot is heightened when the soil is not loose and well drained.

Anyone having trouble in their garden by having bulbs disappear? Now is the time to correct the problem, before the bulbs are planted.

» chipmunk61 - chipmunk eating daffodil bulbs

Hi,
Does anyone have a solution to chipmunks eating the daffodil bulbs that I plant? The last two years, I planted lots of bulbs, and in the spring there were none. I think the chipmunks are eating them -I have lots of chipmunks living in my stonewalls. It's so much work for naught!!
Thanks!
