I guess this is one message that needs to be delivered just about every year

I've reached the point where I just kind of ignore the foliage from early stuff ("Ice Follies" is almost ready to "pull".) and the later is inter-planted with daylilies - the earliest of which are just starting to bloom.

Right you are, Georgene. And daylilies are perfect companions to daffodils. In shady areas, hostas are great, too.
