daffodils

» topgirlly - seed pods or nothing I have some daffodils that were picked in cornwall and bought in my local shop. They smelt absolutely gorgeous and were very pretty. They have since died but i left them in the vases and just under the dead flower heads they have started to grow pods of some kind. what are these as i have never seen this before nor my neighbour who had worked in a garden centre. hope somebody out there can shed some light on this-- posted by topgirlly » Mary Lou - Re: seed pods or nothing Those would be seed pods all right, but it's not likely you'll be able to keep the stem green and the pod growing while the seeds mature. If you want to try, it will probably take 4-6 weeks. Then you can plant the seeds and hopefully get a blooming size bulb in 4-6 years. It may, or may not, look like the flowers you bought.-- posted by Mary Lou
