There is another plant in the South Pacific called the yangona bush. It is commonly called the pepper plant because the roots are a bit spicy. The Melanesians and Polynesians have been using the pepper plant for years. The Chinese buy a million or two million dollars worth of the dried roots and are using them in kidney research.
