Hi Jerri,
Being an ethnobotanist would be a fascinating career, I would think. There is another plant in the South Pacific called the yangona bush. It is commonly called the pepper plant because the roots are a bit spicy. The Melanesians and Polynesians have been using the pepper plant for years. The Chinese buy a million or two million dollars worth of the dried roots and are using them in kidney research.

Pretty amazing; I'm glad folks have passed on their knowledge of all the beneficial plants in the world. Now if they could just find a cure for AIDS.
