thanks for that great info. I have an ugly sticker on my fridge. I wonder if would work on an automobile or motorcycle tank without harming the paint. I have an old tank & I'm going to try it.

Liz,

I asked my husband about removing stickers and decals from automobile paint, and he says he doesn't think lighter fluid will do the trick with those kinds of decals. The trick that autobody people use is to heat the decal up with a hair dryer (on a warm day) and the sticker will come right off.
