I used to travel to Iowa for shows and the sales tax was taken care of by the show staff...we were given paperwork to fill out to send our tax into IA.-- posted by SandySue » LindaK_10 - Linda King I live in Indiana and am starting to set up at sho Linda KingI live in Indiana and am starting to set up at shows in Kentucky. My Ind shows are no problem, but the show sponsors in Ky do not give any info on sales tax. All have said that it is the responsibility of the vendor. Do I need to apply for a license in Ky? -- posted by LindaK_10 » Barb_Massie - Barbara Massie It is the responsibility of each vendor to fol Barbara MassieIt is the responsibility of each vendor to follow the law of the state in which one is selling. So yes, inquire about the Kentucky sales tax law. You need to inquire in every state in which you sell. It seems like a hassle, but it's best to be legal - better than getting caught and paying a fine. There are some show promoters who will collect the tax as Sandy wrote. Few do this since it's extra work for them.
-- posted by Barb_Massie » nursetodd - entrance to craft shows I want to show and sell my product and would like to get into a craft show before the end of the fall season. I am not sure where to start. I know that a lot of the shows are juried but would like to know of the possibility of entrance as an exhibitor in a fall show. Travel is not a problem. Any guidance would be appreciated.-- posted by nursetodd
